Biography
Dr. Iris Haapanen is Assistant Professor of Teacher Education and Advisor of the Bilingual Cross-Cultural Language Academic Development (BCLAD) program at California State University, Stanislaus. During Christmas, spring, and summer break, Dr. Haapanen works on issues dealing with peace in schools, educational leadership, diversity, and English language development. Dr. Haapanen holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Panama, an M.A. in Multilingual Education from CSUS, and an Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco. She has organized numerous “project teams” to develop bilingual programs for elementary and high schools, and has worked on economics curriculum with faculty members from different CSU campuses . She has developed economic teaching materials for students from kindergarten to college, and she has conducted numerous educational workshops throughout the country. Iris Haapanen lives with her mom and daughter in Manteca, California.
